Scandi waves: the new hair trend to adopt for this summer

The wavy is undoubtedly the hairstyle trend that we see reappearing every summer. Just looking at this wavy hair straight out of the sea water, you can almost feel the monoi coming out of it and feel the sun warming your skin.
But this year, a new version of the classic wavy is in the spotlight: the “scandi waves”, or “Scandinavian undulations”. Looser than the classic wavy, this hairstyle trend is actually nothing new. Very fashionable in the 90s, it is making a strong comeback for this summer of 2022 like many other vintage relics.

How to get the “scandi waves”?

The scandi waves takes up the codes of the mermaid wave that we love, being looser and with closer waves. An effortless touch just perfect for summer. This trend was notably seen on Sophie Turner during her climb of the steps of the MET Gala 2022, or on the American actress Zendaya.

To obtain this type of undulations, nothing could be simpler: you just have to braid your hair that you separate into several small strands and leave them on overnight (to be sure that the shape of the wave is correctly in place and that your wavy can hold all day).
It is also possible to use a curling iron three prong that lets you get that wavy in just seconds. In which case, we think of using heat protectant spray before using the hot iron to take care of your hair and avoid damaging it. For an even looser finish, feel free to run a wide-toothed comb or your hand through your hair to loosen your waves even more. Results ? A bohemian mane, perfect for a beach party or an evening by the sea for example.
