Carhartt Flame Resistant Clothing For Women – Specially Sized and Shaped For the Female Form

The past articles that I’ve published have taken a look at Carhartt flame-resistant clothing but always focused on the products for the male worker. It’s not rocket science to realize that these same jobs that are being done by the male workers are being done by the women workforce and there is no reason they can’t have the same comfort and protection in clothing choices that the men have been accused to . When Carhartt released their women’s line a few years back, women liked the idea, but mentioned they wanted more choices.

When you walked into a Carhartt store it would have included many choices for the male customer while only having a few for the female customer. Carhartt has listened though and expanded the women’s line to include more styles of shirts and pants but also some of the personal protective apparel.

Carhartt has produced two styles of pants for the women in the flame-resistant clothing. The relaxed-fit midweight canvas jean (WFRB159) is a great choice for the female worker wanting a lighter weight FR pant for the summer. At 8.5 ounces its lightness should not be undermined for its durability as it will keep you cool and hold up on the job site. The other pant is their traditional Carhartt FR jean, the relaxed-fit denim jean (WFRB160).

Constructed of a heavy fabric its relaxed fitting seat and thighs will ensure comfort on the jobsite. Although Carhartt has only produced two different pant styles for the women it’s a matter of time before they expand. They are producing new shirts and expanding that area which if history serves correct, the future for women’s flame-resistant clothing looks great.

If you are trying to protect the top half of your body Carhartt has a few different options starting with a long-sleeve t-shirt and a Henley version as well. These two knits come in a navy color and offer a protection level just below 10 ATPV. The most highly spoken shirt by customers is the flame-resistant twill shirt (WFRS160). This shirt at 7 ounces is not heavy but has toughness to last on any job site. Also with it offered in both a dark navy and khaki color it gives the woman worker some choice from the typical Carhartt flame-resistant navy color. If the weather turns cold on you their zip-front hooded sweatshirt (WFRK296) is a great option or their midweight canvas active jac (WFRJ130).
